Credit Card Reading Software: Credit card readers work similarly to a cassette player. A magnetic strip or magstripe is located on the back of a credit card, which is protected by a, plastic coating. The magstripe contains information like your name, PIN., and or credit card number. By swiping or inserting, the card activates the reader to scan the magistrate, similar to the magnet reader of a cassette player. The information is then sent to a remote server, called an acquirer, the customer enters their PIN to allow the transaction to proceed. The simplicity of the credit card reader is why its such a useful and reliable machine. With POS software, credit card readers can be connected to computers, allowing authorized retailer with PCs, modems, and proper credit card processing software the ability to accept credit transactions. The foundation of many businesses today is the credit card transaction, and the card reader is the keystone to this foundation.
